I know lots of cool kids are into knitting nowadays - possibly you can learn (or polish) a handcraft like that, or cross-stitch, or hell, paint-by-numbers. or possibly something in the cooking/baking line - learn a new cuisine, or try stuff that'd normally be a stretch; and once you've got dishes down, you'll always be a hit at potlucks.
